Did you know chia seeds are known as a superfood because they contain all nine essential amino acids?"

The mighty chia seeds have long been revered for their exceptional nutritional profile: Originating from the deserts of Mexico and Guatemala, particularly the Salvia hispanica plant, chia seeds come packed with fibre, protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and an array of essential vitamins and minerals.

Combined with the velvety richness of oat m!lk, the resulting harmonious symphony of flavours and textures not only satisfies your cravings but also provides a dose of essential nutrients.

Oat m!lk is a popular dairy-free alternative that goes well with chia seeds, due to its creamy consistency and nutty undertones.

Oat m!lk also offers a delightful twist to traditional milk puddings, catering to those with dietary restrictions or preferences for milk alternatives.

Together, chia seeds and oat m!lk can create a blissful dessert that nourishes the body from the inside out.

An Easy-Peasy Oat M!lk Chia Seed Pudding Recipe

Oatdit is quite generous, so he’s decided to share with you his best chia seed pudding recipe! Made with Oatbedient Oat M!lk Barista & Chia Seeds, this delectable treat can be enjoyed as a breakfast, snack, or dessert, making it a versatile addition to your culinary repertoire.

Ingredients

  • 1 pack of 250ml Oat M!lk Barista
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional, for sweetness)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Toppings of choice: Ground cinnamon, fresh berries, sliced banana, nuts, or coconut flakes

Instructions

  1. Mix: In a bowl, combine the Oat M!lk Barista with chia seeds, maple syrup (if using), and vanilla extract. Stir until well mixed.
  2. Set: Cover the bowl with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight, or at least for 6 hours, which allows the chia seeds to absorb the oat m!lk and thicken to create a pudding-like consistency.
  3. Serve: Once the pudding has set, stir it well. If it’s too thick, add a bit more oat m!lk to make it more runny. Serve in bowls or glasses and top with your choice of spices, fruits, nuts, and other toppings.
  4. Enjoy: Dive into the creamy delight that is your chia seed pudding! Perfect as a breakfast, snack, or dessert — no “thank you’s” necessary.

Oatdit suggests adding diced mango, pineapple, and a splash of coconut milk for a tropical-inspired chia seed pudding; or stir in cocoa powder or melted dark chocolate for a decadent chocolate chia seed pudding.
If you’d like something naughty and nutty, swirl in creamy peanut butter and top it off with chocolate shavings for a nutty and indulgent treat.

Tips for The Perfect Oat M!lk Chia Seed Pudding

Wait up! There’s some important steps you should follow in your chia seed pudding recipe with oat m!lk, to make a creamy and delicious pudding every time.

  • High-Quality A high-quality, unsweetened oat m!lk drink offers you the best flavour and texture for your pudding. Avoid overly processed or sweetened oat m!lk varieties, as they may alter the taste and consistency of your dessert.
  • Ratio Matters Stick to the recommended/prepackaged ratio of chia seeds to oat m!lk drink — adding extra chia seeds can result in a gelatinous texture, which may be too thick for your tastes.
  • Chill Time Allow the oat m!lk chia seed pudding to chill for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to achieve the desired pudding-like consistency. The longer it chills, the thicker and more set the pudding will become.
