Here’s a foolproof recipe for delicate and delicious French crepes with oat milk, a dairy-free alternative which you can make in a jiffy.

Oat Milk French Crepes Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Oatbedient Oat Milk Barista (250ml)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (1 tbsp extra for cooking)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Add your flour, oat milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract to a blender — blitz until crepe batter is smooth and slightly runny.

  2. While our batter rests, preheat a regular-sized nonstick pan over medium heat. Generously grease the pan with a layer of butter.

  3. Pour about ¼ cup of crepe batter into your heated pan, swirling the batter around in a circular motion to evenly coat the bottom of the pan. Fill in any gaps with a little extra crepe batter if needed, but don’t overdo it.

  4. Let the crepe cook for about a minute on one side until the underside is slightly golden, with some light brown spots. Flip and cook on the other side for about the same time. One crepe should take no longer than 2 minutes to cook.

  5. Repeat these steps until all your crepe batter has been used up. Serve warm, and dig in to some lovely, oat-y French crepes!

Oat milk adds a subtle sweetness and a slightly nutty flavour to French crepes, but will keep them soft and tender, with a wonderful melt-in-your mouth texture!

With Oatbedient's Oat Milk Barista, you'll have a bit of every good taste in your pancake dessert, for sure.

Want to add a little more pizzaz to your French crepes with oat milk?

Add Chocolate Chips

Throw in your favourite milk or dark chocolate chips right before you remove the crepes from the pan, for a melted, gooey chocolate addition.

Top with Berries

Serve your crepes with a delightful topping of fresh or frozen strawberries and blueberries. Berries give a tart flavour to your treat, and a pop of colour!

Sprinkle Sugar and Spices

A little powdered sugar, a pinch of nutmeg, or a little cardamom. Add them over your crepes as you stack them up on a plate.

Moisten with Maple Syrup

Drizzle honey or some maple syrup over your crepes for a sweet kick. Be warned — French crepes with our Oat Milk Barista is pretty creamy and sweet on its own already.
